Prendergast Sixth Form is delighted to announce their best results ever at A Level.
Students at Prendergast Sixth Form have achieved outstanding results at A Level this year, making sure that students will get their first choice university offers at Oxford, Cambridge, Imperial, UCL and many Russell Group universities. Students have achieved the best results ever at each of these grade boundaries.
A* – B 50%, A* – C 77%, A* – D 91% and A* – E 98.2%.
The improvement above Grade D is particularly important for an inclusive 6th Form such as ours.
Half of all candidates achieved A* to B grades and the number of students achieving 3 A Levels has again increased. Maths and Sciences did particularly well with more than a third of all candidates achieving A* – A in Maths. English and Modern Foreign Languages continue to produce exceptional results with 85% of French candidates achieving A* – B and all candidates achieving at least a C grade. Creative and Design subjects again did exceptionally well, against the national trend.
Over 24% of students achieved at least ABB or equivalent, which is testament to their hard work. Of particular note are Joey, Marnie and Alina who all achieved at least 3 grades of A*. Joey will read Physics at Durham, Marnie will read Cultural Studies at Sussex and Alina will read Biomedical Science at King’s College London. Furthermore, special praise should be given to Sasha and Ines who both achieved A*AA and will now read Geography at LSE and Languages at King’s College London respectively. Our Head Senior Prefect, Charlotte, achieved A*A*AA and will now read Chemistry at Oxford. Leyla should also be singled out for her incredible hard work to overcome personal challenges to achieve AAA and win a place to study History and Politics at King’s College Cambridge.
16 subjects had 100% pass rates and 16 subjects had greater than 50% success at A* – B.
There were exceptional individual results as ever: 12 candidates achieved 3 As or better and a further 7 candidates achieved at least 2 As and a B. These results are a significant improvement on last year. Results at this stage are, of course, provisional and may improve even further.
The teachers are delighted that so many candidates have worked hard and been successful in achieving their ambitions for university or apprenticeships. We know their families who have supported them will be equally delighted.
Paula Ledger said: ‘Congratulations to all the students who have worked hard for their success and done so well. We are determined that everyone who joins our Sixth Form achieves results they can be proud of and are able to realise their ambitions. We are delighted too for their families who play an important part in individual success. We know they will keep in touch as part of the Prendergast family and join the ever widening group of Prendergast alumni who are so successful at university and in their careers.’
Well done all! We are very proud of you!
