Helping students reach their full potential through long-term partnerships

Rooted in the Company’s tradition of awarding student grants dating back to 1603, our support for post-graduate students in higher education seeks to improve social mobility and increase access to opportunity.
St Catherine’s College, Oxford
The Company has supported St Catherine’s College for over a century, beginning in 1894 with the establishment of four grants for non-Collegiates unable to pay College fees and represents a widening of our commitment to advancing education which dates back to 1603.
The Foundation currently provides post-graduate studentships for disadvantaged students as well as funding for an outreach officer to support the College’s access work including the Catalyst programme – a sustained contact programme that provides pupils with tailored support at multiple points in their school years.

Fitzwilliam College, Cambridge
The Leathersellers’ Company has been supporting Fitzwilliam College, University of Cambridge, and its predecessor, Fitzwilliam House, since 1894.
The Foundation currently provides post-graduate studentships for disadvantaged students as well as funding to support the College’s outreach programme.

RCN (Royal College of Nursing) Foundation
In recent years, the Leathersellers’ Foundation has supported match-funded bursaries for registered nurses, midwives, nursing support workers and nursing students working across a range of health care specialties and settings. These grants have supported nurses with their studies, initially at an undergraduate level and more recently to train non-specialist nurses in mental health support.
